Welcoming Students to our Yes Futures World of Work
MKC Training had the pleasure of welcoming 17 fantastic Stewards Academy Year 9 students to our facility for a Yes Futures World of Work event. Our aim was to inspire students while providing an enjoyable and innovative experience for them.
Our action-packed day included two morning workshops, one exploring Virtual & Augmented Reality and how this links into our work while the other delved into the skills of welding and strength testing – if you’ve never tried it, chocolate welding is a must and it is incredible to see how much weight a simple ‘Milky Bar’ structure can hold.
In the afternoon, the students were challenged to create a poster of what engaging lessons should contain – this gave us a really interesting insight into how we can develop our training to motivate the next generation of employees.
A number of our colleagues (including our Managing Director, Michael Fry) also submitted themselves to ‘speed networking’ and being interviewed by 2 – 3 students at a time as they explored their own career paths and experiences.
The feedback from the day was brilliant and both the students and our team members felt it was a well-spent day, full of learning and mutual inspiration.
