APM Project Management Qualification

What is the APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ)?

The APM Project Management Qualification has been developed by the APM (Association for Project Management), the chartered body for the project profession.

This course uses the APM Body of Knowledge 7 (BoK7), which contains the concepts, terms and activities that make up current best practice in the profession. Candidates will gain an in-depth understanding of how the many elements of project management interact. They will return to work with a better idea of how to improve the chances of their projects delivering valuable outputs, on time and on budget.

Who is the Project Management Qualification for?

This is a challenging 6 day course aimed at learners with two to three years of experience as a project professional. The course will be delivered in 2 parts, consisting of 3 days one week and then 3 days the following week. There is a lot of material covered in this time.

The reward for all this hard work is an internationally recognised qualification that is very well respected by other project professionals. If you have had some exposure to projects then this will be an advantage as you will probably be familiar with some, if not all, elements on the syllabus.

Successful candidates that have at least three years of project experience will be able to apply for full membership of the APM. This allows them to write 'MAPM' after their name. This is quite a compelling reason to go the for the PMQ, particularly if you are trying to decide between this course and others such as PRINCE2®.

If you are currently working in projects but want to have more confidence in what you are doing, or are an experienced project manager that wants to have an internationally recognised qualification to reflect your industry expertise, then consider this course.

This course will be delivered in 2 parts consisting of 3 days one week and then 3 days the following week.

There are no entry requirements for this course. However, the APM Project Management Qualification is the ideal next step for anyone holding the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification. Anyone with another project management qualification such as PRINCE2®, Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®) or Management of Risk (M_o_R®4) will also find that they are familiar with some of the topics in this course.

By the end of the course, learners will be prepared for the exam and feel more confident managing and supporting projects back in their workplace.

If you want more qualifications then the next step would be to work towards the APM Project Professional Qualification.

    Pawan, PRINCE2 Agile course
  • "I thoroughly enjoyed the course and got a good deal of useful information from it. I have carried out projects throughout my career, and a few years ago took the APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ), but carried out projects using my own methods. PRINCE2 is great in that it sets out a methodology for carrying out project management, and is the most widely recognised in the UK. Adding agile was the icing on the cake."
    Lara, PRINCE2 Agile
  • "Dhaliwal Narinder our trainer was excellent, adding insights from her vast experience to enhance our learning. We have tried Agile and Project Management separately, now i have the opportunity to try both again in my Faculty. Receiving this course online whilst locked down was perfect."
    Kevin, PRINCE2 Agile course
  • "The course was interesting and interactive, though a lot of information needed to be crammed in and consumed. Having done an Agile course a few years ago, this course helped to reinforce what was previously learned and put a project management theme to it. The instructor was very knowledgeable and explained the theory very well. The other participants were engaging and helped make the course interesting through the sharing of question and answer sessions to the relationship of past experiences."
    Ted, PRINCE2 Agile course
  • Experienced and well qualified training staff provide excellent support and are committed to improving trainees' experience.
  • "The pass rate is delivering more competent well-rounded, 'turn their hand to anything' engineers. All of the main courses delivered by MKC achieve notably higher success rates than the corresponding courses delivered by either Further Education (FE) or private training providers'."
    KPMG
  • MKC is seen to be strongly in line with acknowledged approaches to good practice in vocational education and training.
