APM Project Management Qualification
What is the APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ)?
The APM Project Management Qualification has been developed by the APM (Association for Project Management), the chartered body for the project profession.
This course uses the APM Body of Knowledge 7 (BoK7), which contains the concepts, terms and activities that make up current best practice in the profession, candidates will gain an in-depth understanding of how the many elements of project management interact. They will return to work with a better idea of how to improve the chances of their projects delivering valuable outputs, on time and on budget.
APM Management Qualification Overview
Who is the Management Qualification for?
This is a challenging 6 day course. The course will be delivered in 2 parts, consisting of 3 days 1 week and then 3 days the following week. There is a lot of material covered in a short amount of time (6 days). The exam, taken on day 6, is a 3 hour written paper and we strongly recommend that learners complete some pre-reading before they arrive. For more information about the APM PMQ exam read our previous article on, Tips for Passing the APM Project Management Qualification Exam. The reward for all this hard work is an internationally recognised qualification that is very well respected by other project professionals. If you have had some exposure to projects then this will be an advantage as you will probably be familiar with some, if not all, elements on the syllabus.
Successful candidates that have at least 3 years of project experience will be able to apply for full membership of the APM. This allows them to write 'MAPM' after their name. This is quite a compelling reason to go the for the PMQ, particularly if you are trying to decide between this course and others such as PRINCE2.
