Delivery methods:

Course Content

This basic carpentry and joinery course includes:

  • Using hand and power tools safely – chisels, planers, saws
  • Cutting joints – housing, halving, dovetail etc
  • Use of nails, screws and adhesives
  • Constructing and fixing door linings
  • Fitting and hanging a door
  • Fitting a mortice lock


Practical with some theory.


Practical work is assessed throughout the course.

Entry Requirements

No previous experience required.

Suitable coveralls and steel-capped footwear are essential.
