This course will introduce you to the basic techniques used as part of fitting a kitchen. The course is aimed at the DIY market and will help you prepare for a home project to update or refit a kitchen.

The introduction to kitchen fitting includes:

  • Health and safety
  • Safe use of equipment
  • Pipe jointing and bending
  • Kitchen installation to include washing machines, dishwashers, associated waste
  • Cold water supply (pipework and systems)
  • Hot water supply (pipework and systems)
  • Setting out and fitting cupboards
  • Fitting worktops
    • Joining worktops
    • Cutting out for sinks
    • Cutting out for taps
    • Fitting splashbacks
  • Fitting linoleum surfaces




No formal assessment but you will get feedback on your practical skills.

Homework / Private Study Required

This course covers the foundation skills and competences needed for the safe and effective implementation of home bathroom fitting projects. Please note that this course does not include any provision for fitting or commissioning electrical services.
