Introduction to AutoCAD
This course offers you a basic understanding of the operation of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. It is ideal for anyone looking for an initial introduction to AutoCAD 2D with an interest in using the software to produce 2D drawings for architectural, engineering or design purposes.
AutoCAD is the de facto standard drafting package for the construction industry.
You will understand the basic functionality of AutoCAD and have a brief guide to:
- Drawing and modification tools
- Setting up drawing areas
- Plotting drawings
- Exporting drawings
This introductory course is ideal for progression on to other AutoCAD courses including:
- AutoCAD 3D
- AutoCAD – Architectural Technician
- AutoCAD – Engineering Drawings
- AutoCAD Engineering Diagrams and more
- Classroom based theoretical instruction – didactic and discussion
- Work based demonstrations
- Practical tasks
A range of practical and theory assessments are conducted throughout the course content.
Computer and general IT literacy.
All participants will need to provide photographic ID and National Insurance No. No other pre-course preparation is needed.
Pen and notepad or tablet type PC for note taking.
Workshop/classroom facilities, computer terminal and training aid equipment.
