What is the PRINCE2 Agile Project Management qualification?

This 4-day PRINCE2 Agile® Project Management course will firstly introduce you to the PRINCE2® methodology and Agile concepts, then build on your newfound knowledge to teach you how to blend the structure, governance and control of PRINCE2 Project Management with agile methods, techniques and approaches. Most Agile frameworks have an emphasis on developing empowered teams that can rapidly deliver high value outputs and outcomes but are less concerned with structure and governance.

Who is the PRINCE2 Agile Project Management qualification for?

This course is aimed at any professional working within a project environment, such as project managers, aspiring project managers and anyone who manages projects. It is also relevant to other key staff involved in the design, development and delivery of projects, including: Project Board members (e.g. Senior Responsible Owners), Team Managers (e.g. Product Delivery Managers), Project Assurance (e.g. Business Change Analysts), Project Support (e.g. Project and Programme Office personnel) and operational line managers/staff.

This is a very intense course that requires evening homework to help you along with your studies so, we advise booking out the full week to allow for full focus on the course and prepare you for your exams.


Accreditation / qualification(s) offered

Successful completion of this course will mean you will be awarded the;

  • PRINCE2 Agile Foundation certification (valid for 3 years) and,
  • PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner certification (valid for 3 years).

PeopleCert online exams

Exam vouchers are valid for 12 months, so you can take them at a time and day that is convenient to you, but we do recommend taking the exams during the week of your course or very shortly after.

Foundation Exam – 60 minute, closed book exam set by PeopleCert with 50 multiple choice questions each worth one mark. 50% pass mark (28 marks out of the 50 questions).

Practitioner Exam – 2 and a half hour, open book exam set by PeopleCert with 50 questions each worth one mark. 60% pass mark (30 marks out of the 50 questions).


Course resit policy

We have a ‘FREE course resit policy’ for anyone who unfortunately does not pass their exam, all we require is that you pay for your exam resit. You can then attend the next PRINCE2 Agile Project Management course for FREE! Please contact your course organiser to discuss.

The PRINCE2 Agile Project Management Foundation course is a 3 day introduction to both the world of project management and agile ways of working.

Candidates on this course will be given an introduction to the PRINCE2 Project Management processes, principles and themes. However, the main focus will be on exploring what it means to be agile and how the team members, project manager and project board can work in a more agile way. As well as conventional teaching, there will be practical activities so that learners can practice a number of agile techniques.

PRINCE2 Agile Project Management Practitioner course is a one-day workshop that builds on the Foundation course. It gives learners an opportunity to revise the Foundation content through the practice of Practitioner exam questions and classroom discussion. It finishes with a 2.5 hour, scenario-based, multiple choice exam on the second day.

  • Objective testing
  • 50 questions each worth one mark
  • 30 marks or more required to pass out of 50 questions: 60% pass mark
  • Two-and-a-half hours’ (150 minutes) duration, no additional reading time
  • Open book exam. Candidates may use the official printed hard copy of the PRINCE2 Agile® Project Management guidance. The guidance book may be annotated and tabulated but no sticky notes and loose leaf papers containing additional notes will be allowed.

There are no prerequisites to join this course as you will cover the Foundation level in the first 3 days. The Practitioner level will be covered on the last day of this course. You decide if you take both exams during the course week, in the evenings, or at the end of the course week on the Friday. Please note, you can take the exams in any order but won't be awarded the Practitioner certificate until you have passed the Foundation exam or give PeopleCert evidence that you hold one of the certifications shown below.

If you already have the PRINCE2 Agile® Foundation qualification, or any of the certifications listed below, you can register for the PRINCE2 Agile® Practitioner only course rather than this combined option.

PRINCE2 Agile Project Management Practitioner pre-requisites

You can take the PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner exam if you hold any of the following valid certifications:

  • PRINCE2® Project Management Foundation (or higher)
  • PRINCE2 Agile® Project Management Foundation
  • Project Management Qualification® (PMQ)*
  • Certified Associate in Project Management® (CAPM)*
  • IPMA Levels A,B,C and D® (Certified Projects Director)

This course will enable you to combine the benefits of an Agile approach with the world’s most highly regarded project management method. You will know the key elements of PRINCE2 Agile Project Management and how these can be tailored and applied. You will understand the benefits you can expect from using PRINCE2 Agile Project Management, and when and how to implement PRINCE2 Agile Project Management in a sustainable way.
