MKC Supports City & Guilds with new Digital Learning Resources

MKC Training (MKC) has completed a portfolio of 56 online training resources for City & Guilds, the global brand providing high quality skills development and apprenticeship schemes. The bite-sized online learning modules will support off-programme learning for a number of new Apprenticeship Standards including: Level 2 Bricklaying; Level 2 Carpentry & Joinery; and Level 3 Advanced Carpentry & Joinery.

The new digital resources will be available via City & Guilds SmartScreen learning platform which provides high quality materials to support the entire teaching and learning experience for learners and tutors.

MKC was selected for this work because of their deep knowledge and experience around both the construction skills subject matter and their pragmatic approach to learning technology. MKC had previously produced similar modules to be used as part of City & Guild's face-to-face classroom programmes, and this new project built on that experience.

The modules include high quality images, video and animations, with associated text being provided in highly accessible easy-to-understand conversational English.

MKC Managing Director, Andrew Brader commented

"These digital resources will provide valuable off-the-job learning to complement the practical experience of apprentices. At MKC, we are both educators and learning technology experts, and have designed these modules with the full support of our construction and learning design experts. We've tapped into our understanding of construction learners, and married that with technical excellence in communicating knowledge online. The result is high quality digital learning that will support the construction professionals of the future."
