What is the Change Management qualification?
The Change Management qualification is the definitive certification for project professionals dealing with organisational change, transition and transformation.
This combined Change Management™ Foundation & Practitioner course has been designed to help you manage the impact of change in your organisation and provide you with techniques to effectively plan and implement successful transformation initiatives.
Based on the Effective Change Manager's Handbook and aligned to the Institute's Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK), this course explores how change affects, and is affected by; individuals, teams, organisations and change leaders, equipping you with the knowledge, theories and techniques to successfully implement change in your organisation.

Who is this qualification for?
The APMG Change Management Foundation and Practitioner qualification is for:
- Aspiring or current managers of organisational change, transition or transformation.
- Those performing key roles in the design, development and delivery of organisation change programmes which can include; Change Project Managers, Transformation Managers, Business Change Managers, Senior Responsible Owners, Change Programme Managers and Operational Line Managers.
Accreditation / qualification(s) offered
Successful completion of this course will mean you will be awarded the;
- Change Management Foundation certification (does not expire) and,
- Change Management Practitioner certification (valid for 5 years).
APMG online exam
Foundation Exam – 40-minute multiple choice closed-book online exam. There is a total of 50 questions to answer broken down into four sections. 25 marks required to pass (out of 50 available) – 50%.
Practitioner Exam – 2.5 hours restricted open book exam – The Effective Change Manager’s Handbook may be used in the exam. Objective testing based on a case study scenario. There is a total of 4 questions each worth 20 marks. 40 marks are required to pass (out of 80 available) – 50%.

We have a ‘FREE course resit policy’ for anyone who unfortunately does not pass their exam, all we require is that you pay for your exam resit. You can then attend the next Change Management course for FREE! Please contact your course organiser to discuss.

The Change Management Practitioner qualification explores how change affects, and is affected by, individuals, teams and organisations, helping those responsible for change initiatives to:
- Discuss with colleagues the different areas of impact of a change initiative, and how momentum for that change can be built and sustained.
- Outline important aspects of how to build an effective change team, and to contribute to discussions about how to improve the effectiveness of a team.
- Know how to prepare people for change
- Identify organisational drivers of change initiatives and links with governance structures (e.g. strategic, programme or project governance
- Help colleagues understand the difference between organisation change and the human impact of transition.
- Support identification & mapping of stakeholders and develop approaches to build & maintain engagement
- Draft change communication plans for key stakeholders

There are no entry requirements for this course as the Foundation level will be covered in the first 3 days.
